Community Support

For any hospice to survive, and especially for any hospice to succeed, there has to be commitment on the part of the community. We see this commitment every day in the dedicated volunteers who sit with our patients. We see this commitment in the time our staff spends caring for our neighbors. And we see this in the commitment of generous people who have contributed money, time and energy to a cause which clearly is deserving and touches us all at one time or another.

Sumner Hospice is a gift of the community to itself, and we are the honored stewards of that gift. We greatly appreciate the community’s support of our mission to improve the quality of life for those in need of end-of-life care. We welcome your continued support in many ways, including financial and property donations, in-kind contributions, volunteering, special services, and sponsorship and participation in special activities and events.

Donations – Contributions from the community play a vital role in supporting Sumner Hospice’s commitment to provide very good care to our patients and their loved ones. The end-of-life journey is a personal one, unique to each of us, and donations help support patient care programs and services designed to meet the individual needs of our patients and their loved ones.

Volunteers – One of the most important and essential services that Sumner Hospice provides to our patients and their families is the loving support of our volunteers. Volunteers give freely of their time, not for pay or recognition, but out of a sense of giving back to the members of their community. Volunteers are a key member of the hospice interdisciplinary team.
